That’s Amore For Kids

By Janet Monk

This year, Pizza Nova’s “That’s Amore Pizza for Kids” annual fundraiser raised the record-breaking amount of $201,727 to donate to Variety – The Children’s Charity of Ontario. The aim of the annual fundraiser is to raise money to support children with disabilities and open the door for them to play, learn, and grow in programs run by Variety. Pizza Nova and Variety – The Children’s Charity of Ontario, have held collaborative fundraisers since 1999. In previous years, Pizza Nova donated $1 from every medium pizza sold on “That’s Amore Pizza for Kids Day” to Variety, but due to COVID-19 they decided to change their method of raising funds. This year, Pizza Nova donated $0.50 from every dip sold at participating locations over the course of the entire month of May. As a result, Pizza Nova raised $81,727 dollars more than they did in 2020 and $66,441 more than they did in 2019. To celebrate the record-breaking milestone, Variety Village honoured Pizza Nova by naming its new pavilion “The Primucci Pavilion” after Pizza Nova’s founding family. “I want to thank Variety for all that you do,” stated President Domenic Primucci at the cheque presentation to Variety on Monday, June 14 2021. “You are very special to Pizza Nova and we look forward to continuing to support such a great cause.”
