Toronto Maple Leafs' Michael Bunting to Partner with Boys and Girls Clubs of West Scarborough

TORONTO, CANADA – March 9, 2022 – Toronto Maple Leaf’s rookie, Michael Bunting, is partnering with the BGC West Scarborough to help achieve their goal of building a dedicated space for children’s programs. Michael is looking forward to doing multiple initiatives for the Boys and Girls Club to help raise awareness and funds. BGC West Scarborough provides safe, supportive places where children and youth can experience new opportunities, overcome barriers, build positive relationships, and develop confidence and skills for life.

“Being a kid from Scarborough, it is so important for me to give back. What better organization then the Boys & Girls Club of West Scarborough to partner with? What they do for the community is incredible.” said Michael Bunting, Maple Leafs Rookie. “I look forward to doing some great work with Boys and Girls Club to give something back to my hometown.”

Michael Bunting has had a stellar rookie season with the Toronto Maple Leafs. In the month of February he has been on fire with 7 goals and 7 assists in 12 games. Born and raised in Scarborough, Michael has committed to giving back to the place where it all started.

“BGC West Scarborough is thrilled to be partnering with Michael Bunting to support our shared vision of helping kids from Scarborough achieve their dreams and grow up to be healthy, successful and active participants in society,” said Joshua Hood, Executive Director at BGC West Scarborough. “We are truly grateful for Michael’s support, which will allow us to expand our programs, and to continue to build a better community together.”

Michael and BGC West Scarborough have their first fundraising opportunity starting today with the platform Engage. Engage is creating a sweepstakes that will provide fans of all levels to win some amazing prizes from game worn signed autographed items to Fanatics memorabilia all while giving back.

BGC West Scarborough is currently seeking upwards of $500K to provide a dedicated space for children’s programs, to meet the demands of a rapidly growing population in our community. In addition to the dedicated space, BGC West Scarborough is seeking $100K for facility upgrades, which would include an activities centre, a tech lab and gymnasium improvements.

“The Engage team is unbelievably excited to partner with Michael Bunting and
August Icon Marketing to raise money and awareness for BGC
West Scarborough and give Michael’s fans in Canada and beyond the chance to
win some amazing prizes,” said Noah Schwartz, Engage co-founder and COO. “Engage
is proud to be a small part of Michael’s contribution to the community that raised him.”
